Yuukai no Hi (2025 Japanese Drama)
Yuukai no Hi (Japanese: 誘拐の日) is a Japanese television drama series that aired on TV Asahi from July 8 to September 2, 2025. The series consists of nine episodes and was broadcast in the Tuesday 21:00 time slot.
Plot
The story centers on Masamune Shinjo, played by Takumi Saito, who is desperate to secure funds for his daughter's heart surgery. In a desperate act, he attempts to kidnap Rin Nanase, the daughter of a wealthy hospital director. During the attempt, Rin jumps in front of his car and loses consciousness. Upon waking, she suffers from memory loss, leading Masamune to falsely claim he is her father. The situation escalates when it is revealed that a crime occurred at the Nanase residence prior to the kidnapping attempt, leaving Masamune as a prime suspect in both the kidnapping and a murder investigation.
Production
The drama is based on the novel Yoogweui Nal by South Korean author Jung Hae-Yeon, which was published on July 17, 2019, by Sigongsa. The series was directed by Yoshihiro Fukagawa and Osamu Katayama, with the screenplay adapted by Kentaro Ushio.

The series achieved an average viewership rating of 5.7% in the Kanto region. The final episode, which aired on September 2, 2025, recorded the highest rating of the series at 6.8%.
