You Are a Gift (Korean: 당신은 선물; RR: Dangshineun Sunmool) is a South Korean television drama series that aired on SBS from June 13 to November 24, 2016. The series consists of 111 episodes and was broadcast in the Monday to Friday 19:20 time slot.

Plot

The story follows Kong Hyun-Soo (played by Huh Yi-Jae), a bright university student who has faced significant personal tragedy, including the death of her father and her mother's brain injury resulting from an accident. Hyun-Soo enters a relationship with Yoon-Ho (Shim Ji-Ho), and despite initial opposition from Yoon-Ho's mother, Eun Young-Ae (Choi Myoung-Gil), the couple eventually marries. Their lives are upended when a subsequent accident results in the death of Yoon-Ho's father and the disappearance of Yoon-Ho. Unaware that Hyun-Soo is pregnant, Young-Ae moves abroad. The narrative explores the eventual reunion of Hyun-Soo and Young-Ae years later.

Production

The series was directed by Yoon Ryoo-Hae, with a screenplay written by Lee Moon-Whi and Oh Bo-Hyun. It followed the drama Witch's Castle in the SBS Monday-Friday evening time slot and was succeeded by Love Is Drop by Drop on November 28, 2016.
