Yim Pil-Sung

Yim Pil-Sung (Hangul: 임필성; born 1972) is a South Korean film director, screenwriter, and occasional actor. He is recognized for directing several notable feature films and anthology segments in South Korean cinema, including Antarctic Journal (2005) and Hansel and Gretel (2007).

Career

Yim began his prominent feature film career as a director and screenwriter with the 2005 mystery-drama film Antarctic Journal. He followed this with the dark fantasy film Hansel and Gretel in 2007, for which he also contributed to the screenwriting.

Over the subsequent decades, Yim directed segments for collaborative anthology projects such as Doomsday Book (2012) and the Netflix anthology series Persona (2019). He also directed and wrote the drama Scarlet Innocence (2014).

In addition to his primary work behind the camera, Yim has made occasional appearances as an actor in films, including roles in The Host (2006), Behind the Camera (2013), and Playboy Bong (2013).
