Plot Overview
The story follows Kotoha Tagami, a 16-year-old who has dropped out of school and experienced a troubled youth. Her life takes a dramatic turn following a motorbike accident alongside her friend, leaving her on the brink of death. After recovering, her doctor, Keisuke Nakata, encourages her to carefully consider how she will utilize her saved life. Inspired by this encounter, she resolves to pursue a career in medicine.
Years later, Kotoha successfully studies to become a neurosurgeon. Recommended by Keisuke Nakata, she begins working at a hospital in Tokyo. Upon arrival, however, she confronts a corporate-driven medical environment focused heavily on profit, strict bureaucracy, and an emphasis on administrative paperwork over direct patient care.
