XX (South Korean Web Series)

XX is a South Korean web series that explores the professional and personal tensions between a head bartender and the new owner of the bar where she works. The series, directed by Kim Joon-mo and written by Yi-seul, consists of 10 episodes.

Plot

Yoon Na-na (played by Hani) is a skilled and dedicated head bartender at the bar known as XX. She maintains a professional distance from the administrative aspects of the establishment, focusing entirely on her craft with the long-term ambition of opening her own bar. Her routine is disrupted when Lee Roo-mi (Hwang Seung-un) becomes the new owner of XX. The two women share a complicated history, having been best friends five years prior to a falling out that left Na-na deeply resentful. As Roo-mi attempts to reconcile their past, the narrative examines the lingering effects of their broken friendship.

The series was initially released online through V Live and Naver TV starting on January 22, 2019. It later received a broadcast run on the MBC network from January 24 to March 27, 2020.
