Wrestler (2018 Film)

Wrestler (Korean: 레슬러; RR: Reseulreo) is a 2018 South Korean comedy-drama film directed by Kim Dae-Woong. The film explores the relationship between a former wrestler and his son, who is also a wrestler.

Plot

The story follows Gwi-Bo (played by Yu Hae-Jin), a former wrestler who has spent the last two decades as a stay-at-home father. His son, Sung-Woong (Kim Min-Jae), is a competitive wrestler. Their quiet life is disrupted when Gwi-Bo becomes involved with unexpected people, leading to complications in their father-son dynamic.

Production

The film was directed by Kim Dae-Woong, who also co-wrote the screenplay with Lee An-Na. Principal photography for the film commenced on July 19, 2017, and concluded on October 17, 2017. The film was distributed by Lotte Entertainment and released in South Korea on May 9, 2018.
