Would You Like a Cup of Coffee? (Korean: 커피 한잔 할까요?) is a South Korean television drama series that premiered on October 24, 2021. The series was broadcast on KakaoTV and centers on the life of a young barista and his mentor.
Plot
The story follows Kang Ko-Bi, played by Ong Seong-Wu, a passionate rookie barista who aspires to master the art of coffee. He begins an apprenticeship at 2Dae Coffee, a cafe run by the experienced master Park Seok, portrayed by Park Ho-San. As Kang Ko-Bi learns the technical and philosophical aspects of coffee brewing, he interacts with a diverse range of customers, providing them with comfort and guidance. Through these experiences, he matures both as a professional barista and as an individual.
Production
The drama is based on the comic Coffee Hanjan Halggayo?, written and illustrated by Huh Young-Man with contributions from writer Lee Ho-Joon. The original work was serialized in the daily newspaper JoongAng Ilbo from January 19, 2015, to January 21, 2017. Production for the television adaptation commenced in June 2021, with No Jung-Wook serving as the director.
