Woman of 9.9 Billion

Woman of 9.9 Billion (Korean: 99억의 여자; RR: 99eokui Yeoja) is a South Korean television drama series that aired on KBS2 from December 4, 2019, to January 23, 2020. The series consists of 32 episodes and was broadcast in the Wednesday and Thursday 22:00 time slot.

Plot

The story follows Jeong Seo-Yeon, a woman who escapes a life of domestic abuse only to find herself in possession of 9.9 billion won. She attempts to use this fortune to fight against the circumstances that have defined her life. Meanwhile, Kang Tae-Woo, a former detective, seeks the truth behind the death of his younger sibling, a quest that eventually intersects with Jeong's path.

Production

The series was directed by Kim Young-Jo and written by Han Ji-Hoon. The first script reading for the production took place in August 2019. The drama replaced When the Camellia Blooms in its time slot and was followed by the series Forest on January 29, 2020. The project marked a reunion for lead actors Cho Yeo-Jeong and Kim Kang-Woo, who previously starred together in the 2012 KBS2 series Lovers of Haeundae.
