Wife of a Spy (Japanese: スパイの妻; Romaji: Spy no Tsuma) is a 2020 Japanese television film directed by Kiyoshi Kurosawa. The screenplay was written by Ryusuke Hamaguchi, Tadashi Nohara, and Kiyoshi Kurosawa. The film was broadcast on NHK on June 6, 2020.

Plot

Set in 1940 in Kobe, Japan, the story follows Yusaku Fukuhara, a merchant who runs a trading company. While on a business trip to Manchuria, Yusaku discovers a significant national secret. Upon his return, he decides to expose the truth, an act that leads to him being accused of treason. His wife, Satoko, remains loyal to him despite the mounting pressure and the potential consequences of his actions.
