Why Her? (Korean: 왜 오수재인가; RR: Wae Ohsoojaeinga) is a South Korean television series that aired in 2022. The legal drama, directed by Park Soo-jin and written by Kim Ji-eun, was broadcast on the SBS network from June 3 to July 23, 2022, occupying the Friday and Saturday 22:00 time slot.
Plot
The series follows Oh Soo-jae, a highly ambitious and talented lawyer at TK Law Firm, widely regarded as the most prestigious firm in South Korea. Driven by a relentless pursuit of success and her own interpretation of justice, she is on the verge of becoming the firm's youngest partner. However, her career trajectory is abruptly altered when she becomes involved in an unexpected case, leading to her demotion to an adjunct professor position at a local law school.
At the university, she encounters Gong Chan, a law student with a difficult past and a compassionate nature. Despite their different backgrounds, Gong Chan develops a deep affection for Oh Soo-jae and becomes a pivotal figure in her life. The narrative also explores the machinations of Choi Tae-guk, the chairman of TK Law Firm, whose pursuit of power often leads him to engage in unethical and illegal activities.
