Welcome to Samdal-ri
Welcome to Samdal-ri (Korean: 웰컴투 삼달리) is a South Korean television series that aired on JTBC from December 2, 2023, to January 21, 2024. The drama was directed by Cha Young-hoon and written by Kwon Hye-joo.
Plot
The story follows Cho Yong-pil (Ji Chang-wook), a weather forecaster based on Jeju Island. Known for his stubbornness and dedication to his work, Yong-pil's career path was influenced by the death of his mother, who worked as a haenyeo (female diver) and died due to an inaccurate weather report. He remains deeply connected to his hometown of Samdal-ri.
His childhood friend, Cho Sam-dal (Shin Hae-sun), leaves their hometown to pursue a career in Seoul. Working under the alias Jo Eun-hye, she becomes a successful fashion photographer. However, after a professional crisis, she returns to Samdal-ri. The series explores the rekindling of their relationship after years of separation.
