Background and Production

The television series is adapted from the novel titled Panda yori Koi ga Nigatena Watashitachi, written by Kazuaki Sena and published by Kodansha on June 23, 2021. The production involves directors Yuma Suzuki, Kento Matsuda, and Yuji Nawashiro, with screenwriting handled by Nonji Nemoto.

Plot Synopsis

Ichiha Shibata joins a publishing company with the aspiration of becoming a fashion magazine editor. On her first day at work, she learns that her desired fashion magazine has been cancelled, leaving her to work unenthusiastically in the editing department of a lifestyle magazine. She is subsequently tasked with planning a love advice column featuring her favorite model, Aria Haizawa. However, Aria refuses to write the column herself and orders Ichiha to act as her ghostwriter.

Struggling with this assignment, Ichiha visits associate professor Tsukasa Shido, an academic who studies love through the lens of animal courtship behavior rather than human romance. Although initially confused, Ichiha begins to discover unexpected parallels between animal behavior and human relationships that guide her perspective on love and life.
