Watashitachi wa Douka Shiteiru

Watashitachi wa Douka Shiteiru (Japanese: 私たちはどうかしている), released internationally as Cursed in Love, is a Japanese television drama series that aired on NTV from August 12 to September 30, 2020. The series is based on the manga of the same name by Natsumi Ando, which began serialization in the magazine BE・LOVE on December 1, 2016.

Plot

The story follows Nao Hanaoka, whose mother worked at a traditional wagashi (Japanese confectionery) shop with a 400-year history. When Nao is six years old, the owner of the shop is found murdered. Based on the testimony of the owner's son, Tsubaki Takatsuki, Nao's mother is arrested for the crime and subsequently dies during the investigation, leaving Nao orphaned and displaced. Fifteen years later, Nao and Tsubaki reunite at a confectionery competition. While Tsubaki does not recognize her, Nao holds him responsible for her mother's fate. Seeking to clear her mother's name, Nao enters the Takatsuki family, eventually accepting a marriage proposal from Tsubaki to gain access to the household.
