Warau Manekineko (Japanese: 笑う招き猫) is a Japanese television drama series that aired in 2017. The series, which consists of four episodes, follows the professional struggles of two aspiring entertainers, Hitomi Takashiro and Akako Honda.

Production and Background

The series was directed by Ken Iizuka, who also contributed to the writing. The narrative is based on the novel of the same name written by Yukihisa Yamamoto, which was originally published by Shueisha in January 2004.
