Voice of a Murderer (2007 Film)
Voice of a Murderer (Korean: Geu Nom Moksori) is a 2007 South Korean crime thriller film directed by Park Jin-pyo. The film is a dramatization of the real-life 1991 kidnapping and murder of nine-year-old Lee Hyung-ho in the Apgujeong neighborhood of Seoul.

Plot
The story follows Han Kyung-bae (Sul Kyung-gu), a prominent news anchor whose nine-year-old son is abducted. The kidnapper demands a ransom of $100,000 and maintains contact with the boy's mother, Oh Ji-sun (Kim Nam-joo), through a series of phone calls. A police task force, led by veteran detective Kim Wook-jung (Kim Young-chul), is assigned to the case. The investigation is hampered by the kidnapper's ability to evade police traps and his cold, calculated demeanor, which is captured only through recorded phone conversations. As the ordeal stretches from days into weeks, the parents grow increasingly desperate, eventually leading Han Kyung-bae to attempt a direct confrontation with the perpetrator.
Background
The film is based on the 1991 kidnapping of Lee Hyung-ho. The case became one of South Korea's most infamous unsolved crimes. After 44 days of negotiations, the boy's body was discovered in the sewers near the Han River. Despite numerous phone calls from the perpetrator to the family, the case remained unsolved and eventually reached the 15-year statute of limitations in South Korea.
