Venus in Furs (2012 South Korean Film)

Venus in Furs (Korean: 모피를 입은 비너스; RR: Mopireul Ipeun Bineoseu) is a 2012 South Korean erotic suspense-thriller film directed by Song Ye-Sub. The film is an adaptation of the 1870 novella of the same name by Austrian author Leopold von Sacher-Masoch.

Plot

The narrative follows a film director named Min-Soo who encounters a woman named Joo-Won. Their chance meeting leads to a complex relationship, as Min-Soo becomes increasingly captivated by Joo-Won. At her request, he moves into her secluded, extravagant home to work on a screenplay. The household also includes a butler. As the story progresses, Min-Soo finds himself drawn into a psychological and physical dynamic characterized by themes of sadomasochism.

Production

The film was directed by Song Ye-Sub, who also contributed to the screenplay. Principal photography for the project took place between January 17, 2010, and March 25, 2010. The film was released in South Korea on July 12, 2012, with a runtime of 80 minutes.
