Unlocked (2023 South Korean Film)

Unlocked is a 2023 South Korean thriller film directed by Kim Tae-Joon. The film is based on the 2017 novel Sumaho o Otoshita dake by Japanese author Akira Shiga. It was released on the streaming platform Netflix on February 17, 2023.

Plot

The story follows Lee Na-Mi, an ordinary office worker whose life is upended after she loses her smartphone. The device is found by Oh Jun-Yeong, who uses the phone to monitor her personal life and commit various crimes. Simultaneously, Detective Woo Ji-Man investigates a series of murders, eventually discovering evidence that links the crimes to his own son, Woo Jun-Yeong.

Production

The film was directed by Kim Tae-Joon, who also contributed to the screenplay. Principal photography for the project commenced on March 21, 2021, and concluded on June 27, 2021. The film has a runtime of 117 minutes.
