Plot
The story follows the dynamic between two detectives with conflicting approaches to police work. Detective Lee, a new recruit, is determined to root out corruption within the force and believes that the veteran Detective Kang must be removed. Lee frequently pressures Kang to resign, leading to a tense rivalry. In an attempt to maintain his position, Kang assigns Lee a series of difficult, unsolved cases, hoping to overwhelm him. However, Lee successfully resolves them, further complicating their relationship.
The tension escalates when a major theft occurs. During the investigation, Detective Kang succumbs to his old habits and attempts to steal a diamond for himself. Although he believes his actions have gone unnoticed, Detective Lee discovers the theft. Lee uses this information to force a deal, agreeing to remain silent only if Kang manages to solve a new, seemingly impossible case.
