Tunnel 3D

Tunnel 3D (Korean: 터널 3D) is a 2014 South Korean horror-thriller film directed by Park Gyu-Taek. The film, which utilizes 3D technology, centers on a group of friends who encounter supernatural events after visiting an abandoned coal mine.

Plot

The story follows Ki-Chul, whose father owns a resort located near an abandoned coal mine. Ki-Chul invites his friends to the resort, but their trip takes a dark turn when they encounter a mysterious man who warns them against entering the mine. Despite the warning, the group eventually finds themselves trapped within the tunnels of the abandoned site, forced to fight for their survival.

Production

Principal photography for Tunnel 3D commenced on February 6, 2014, at the KOFIC Namyangju Studios in Namyangju, South Korea. The production team utilized various locations for filming, including mining regions in Taebaek, Jeongseon, and Gwangmyeong. Filming concluded on April 20, 2014, at the Gwangmyeong Gahak Mine Cave in Gwangmyeong, Gyeonggi Province.

Release

The film held its world premiere on July 19, 2014, at the 18th Puchon International Fantastic Film Festival. It was subsequently released in South Korean theaters on August 13, 2014.
