Tube (2003 South Korean Film)

Tube (Korean: 튜브) is a 2003 South Korean action film directed and written by Baek Woon-hak. The film follows a high-stakes confrontation between a dedicated detective and a former government agent turned terrorist who hijacks a subway train.

Plot

The story centers on Detective Jang Do-jun (Kim Seok-hoon), a persistent investigator tracking Kang Ki-taek (Park Sang-min), a former elite intelligence agent who was dismissed after assassinating a high-profile figure. During an official visit by the mayor to the subway system, Kang hijacks a train, taking passengers hostage. Song In-kyeong (Bae Doo-na), a pickpocket who witnesses the initial stages of the hijacking, alerts Detective Jang. The film depicts the ensuing struggle as the detective attempts to neutralize the threat while ensuring the safety of the passengers.

Production

The film was directed by Baek Woon-hak, who also wrote the screenplay. It was produced by Yang Keun-chan and distributed by Tube Entertainment. The cinematography was handled by Yun Hong-sik. The film was released in South Korea on June 5, 2003, with a runtime of 118 minutes.
