Tracer is a South Korean television series that premiered in 2022. The drama focuses on the operations of the National Tax Service, specifically the efforts of investigators to track down hidden assets and tax evasion. The series was broadcast on MBC and released through the streaming platform Wavve.

Plot

The narrative centers on Hwang Dong-Ju, played by Yim Si-Wan, who serves as the chief of Taxation Division 5 at the National Tax Service. His primary objective is to uncover money hidden from tax authorities. He is joined by his team, including the energetic Seo Hye-Young (Ko Ah-Sung) and their supervisor, Oh Young (Park Yong-Woo). Their work often brings them into conflict with In Tae-Joon (Son Hyun-Joo), an ambitious director of a regional tax office.

Production and Broadcast

Tracer consists of 16 episodes. It originally aired on MBC in the Friday and Saturday 22:00 time slot. The series occupied the slot previously held by The Red Sleeve and was followed by the series Tomorrow in April 2022. Due to the broadcast of the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics, episodes 9 and 10 experienced a three-week delay, moving from their original February 2022 schedule to late February 2022.
