Ayata has worked extensively in both cinema and television since the late 20th century. He is widely recognized for his recurring role as Kosuzu in the popular television and film franchise Midnight Diner (Shinya Shokudo), as well as appearances in historical dramas, detective series, and feature films directed by prominent Japanese filmmakers.
