Too Many Villains (Korean: 악인은 너무 많다; RR: Akineun Neomu Manhada) is a 2011 South Korean crime noir film written and directed by Kim Harry. The film explores the desperate circumstances of a private investigator navigating a complex criminal underworld.

Plot

The story centers on Kang-Pil, a man struggling to turn his life around while operating a private detective agency. Facing severe financial pressure and legal battles to gain custody of his daughter, he accepts a high-stakes job from a woman named Lee Moon-Hee. Her request involves tracking a man named Park Yong-Dae. When both the target and the client disappear, Kang-Pil finds himself entangled in a dangerous conspiracy involving gold bars allegedly left behind by the Japanese army.

Production and Release

Too Many Villains was released in South Korea on December 15, 2011. The film has a runtime of 75 minutes. It was distributed by A'muse and Indie Plug. The film received international attention when it was screened at the 11th Asian Film Festival of Dallas in July 2012, marking its North American premiere.
