Tokyo Nijusan-ku Onna
Tokyo Nijusan-ku Onna is a Japanese television drama series that aired on the network WOWOW from April 12 to May 17, 2019. The series consists of six episodes and is based on the novel of the same name written by Toshikazu Nagae, which was published by Gentosha in September 2016. Toshikazu Nagae also served as the director and screenwriter for the television adaptation.
Plot Summary
The series is an anthology-style drama exploring various stories set within the twenty-three special wards of Tokyo. Each episode focuses on different characters and mysterious circumstances:
- Episode 1: Ryoko (Kana Kurashina) searches for her missing mother near a drainpipe in Shibuya.
- Episode 2: Nobuko (Yumi Adachi) and her boyfriend travel to Yumenoshima Park to dispose of a large item.
- Episode 3: Ririko (Haruka Shimazaki) encounters a man searching for his missing daughter, Mio (Nanami Sakuraba).
- Episode 4: Kie (Mitsu Dan), a fashion designer, experiences a strange encounter with a taxi driver.
- Episode 5: Kaoru (Miho Nakayama) begins to suspect her husband of infidelity.
- Episode 6: The series concludes with a focus on Ririko (Haruka Shimazaki), as secrets surrounding her character are revealed.
