There Is No Goo Pil-Soo (Korean: 구필수는 없다) is a South Korean television drama series that aired in 2022. The series, directed by Choi Do-Hoon and written by Son Geun-Joo and Lee Hae-Ri, explores the lives and aspirations of two men from different generations.

Plot

The narrative centers on the intersection of two lives: Gu Pil-Su, a man in his 40s, and Jung Suk, a man in his 20s. Gu Pil-Su is a former boxer and recipient of a rookie of the year award who has navigated various career challenges, including work as a salesman and small business owner. Now managing a small bar, he remains dedicated to his family while harboring dreams of future success. In contrast, Jung Suk is a highly intelligent individual from a modest background who achieved academic success at a prestigious university in Seoul. He views the development of a start-up as his primary path to achievement.

Production

The series consists of 16 episodes and was broadcast from May 4 to June 23, 2022, on networks including Olleh TV, Seezn, and Sky TV. Filming for the production commenced in July 2021. The drama marked the first acting role for Yoon Doo-Joon following his discharge from the South Korean military on April 10, 2020.
