The World of the Married (Korean: 부부의 세계; RR: Boobooui Sekye) is a South Korean television drama series that aired on JTBC from March 27 to May 16, 2020. The series, directed by Mo Wan-Il and written by Joo Hyun, consists of 16 episodes and was broadcast in the Friday and Saturday 22:50 time slot.
Background and Production
The series is a South Korean adaptation of the British television drama Doctor Foster, which originally aired on BBC One beginning in 2015. It replaced Itaewon Class in its broadcast slot and was succeeded by Graceful Friends in July 2020.
Plot Synopsis
The story follows Ji Sun-Woo, a successful family medicine doctor who appears to have an ideal life with her husband, Lee Tae-Oh, and their son. Her life is upended when she discovers her husband's infidelity and faces betrayal from those around her. Lee Tae-Oh, an aspiring film director supported by his wife's career, becomes entangled in a dangerous affair that destabilizes their family.
