Plot Synopsis
Set during the year 1999 amidst widespread anxiety concerning the approaching turn of the millennium, the story unfolds in Haeseong City. Eun Chae-Ni, portrayed by Park Eun-Bin, is an unpredictable character with a bright disposition who lives with her grandmother, Kim Jeon-Bok (Kim Hae-Sook), a well-known local restaurant proprietor. Following an unexpected incident, Chae-Ni suddenly acquires supernatural abilities. During this event, she is accompanied by her neighbors Son Gyeong-Hun (Choi Dae-Hoon) and Kang Ro-Bin (Im Sung-Jae), who similarly gain imperfect supernatural powers.
Concurrently, Lee Un-Jeong (Cha Eun-Woo) relocates from Seoul to Haeseong City to work as a civil servant at the local city hall. Characterized by strict adherence to principles and a deficiency in workplace social skills, Un-Jeong maintains a mysterious persona outside of his official duties. He eventually collaborates with Eun Chae-Ni to investigate a series of mysterious disappearances occurring in Haeseong City. Meanwhile, Ha Won-Do (Son Hyun-Joo projects a rational and calm exterior while concealing dark desires. Together, Chae-Ni and her neighbors utilize their newfound abilities to confront threats endangering the peace of Haeseong City.
