The Whistleblower (2014 Film)
The Whistleblower (Korean: 제보자; RR: Jeboja) is a 2014 South Korean drama film directed by Yim Soon-rye. The film is a dramatization of the real-life scientific scandal involving Dr. Hwang Woo-suk, a South Korean researcher who was disgraced after it was revealed that his groundbreaking human embryonic stem cell research was fabricated.

Plot
The story follows Lee Jang-hwan (played by Lee Kyoung-young), a scientist who achieves national hero status for his alleged success in cloning human embryonic stem cells. The narrative shifts when Yoon Min-cheol (Park Hae-il), a television producer, receives an anonymous tip from Shim Min-ho (Yoo Yeon-seok), a former researcher in Lee's laboratory. Shim reveals that the research results were falsified and that the laboratory engaged in unethical practices. Despite significant pressure, Yoon decides to pursue the truth and expose the fraud to the public.
Production
The film was directed by Yim Soon-rye, marking a reunion with actor Park Hae-il, who previously starred in her 2001 film Waikiki Brothers. Principal photography for The Whistleblower commenced on December 16, 2013, and concluded on March 16, 2014. The film was distributed by Megabox Plus M and released in South Korea on October 2, 2014.
