The Weight (2012 Film)
The Weight (Korean: 무게; RR: Mooge) is a 2012 South Korean drama film directed and written by Jeon Kyu-Hwan. The film premiered at the 69th Venice Film Festival on August 30, 2012, as part of the Giornate degli Autori (Venice Days) section. It was subsequently released in South Korea on November 7, 2013.

Production
The production of The Weight took place over several months, with principal photography beginning on December 10, 2011, and concluding on February 28, 2012. The film was produced by Choi Mi-Ae, with cinematography by Kim Nam-Gyoon.

Following its world premiere at the Venice Film Festival, The Weight was screened at several international film festivals, including the Busan International Film Festival, the Sitges Film Festival, the Brussels International Fantastic Film Festival, the Fantasia Film Festival, and Filmfest Hamburg. At the 2013 Fantasia Film Festival, lead actor Cho Jae-Hyun received the award for Best Actor for his performance in the film.
