The Tyrant (Korean: 폭군; RR: Pokkoon) is a 2024 South Korean thriller miniseries directed and written by Park Hoon-jung. The series, which consists of four episodes, was released on Disney+ on August 14, 2024.
Plot
The narrative centers on the disappearance of the final sample of the "Tyrant Program," a clandestine government project. The loss of this sample triggers a high-stakes pursuit involving various factions, each with conflicting agendas regarding the program's future. Lim Sang, a former agent, is tasked with eliminating individuals connected to the project, while Director Choe, who oversees the program unofficially, attempts to maintain control. Simultaneously, foreign intelligence agent Paul seeks to destroy the sample entirely.
