The Tower (2012 South Korean Film)
The Tower (Korean: 타워; RR: Tawo) is a 2012 South Korean disaster film directed by Kim Ji-hoon. The narrative centers on a catastrophic fire that breaks out at the Tower Sky, a luxury twin-tower complex in Seoul, on Christmas Eve. The film explores the survival efforts of residents and staff as they attempt to escape the burning structure.

Plot
Set during the Christmas season, the story follows Lee Dae-ho (Kim Sang-kyung), a maintenance manager at the Tower Sky. After identifying faulty sprinkler systems, he raises concerns with the building's owner, Mr. Jo (Cha In-pyo), who ignores the warnings to proceed with a high-profile Christmas party. During the event, a helicopter hired for a special effects display loses control and crashes into the building, triggering a massive fire that traps the occupants inside.
Production
Principal photography for The Tower commenced on May 18, 2011, in Namyangju, Gyeonggi Province. The production team filmed the opening scenes at a set designed to resemble a Chinese restaurant, featuring characters Seo Yun-hee (Son Ye-jin) and Lee Dae-ho. Filming concluded on December 7, 2011.
