The Tale of Lady Ok (Korean: 옥씨부인전) is a South Korean historical drama series set during the Joseon period. The series, directed by Jin Hyeok and written by Park Ji-Sook, explores the life of a woman living under a false identity.
Plot
The story centers on Ok Tae-Young, portrayed by Lim Ji-Yeon, a woman known for her intelligence, work ethic, and athletic ability. Despite being widely admired for her willingness to assist others in difficult circumstances, she harbors a significant secret: her name, her marriage, and her social status are all fabrications. Her life changes when she encounters Cheon Seung-Hwi, played by Choo Young-Woo, a traveling storyteller who recites novels across the country. Upon meeting Ok Tae-Young, he falls in love and becomes a steadfast supporter of her.

The series aired on the JTBC network in the Saturday and Sunday 22:30 time slot. It premiered on November 30, 2024, and concluded on January 26, 2025, spanning 16 episodes. The broadcast schedule experienced minor adjustments due to news coverage regarding the South Korean presidential impeachment situation; specifically, the third episode was moved to December 8, 2024, and the fourth episode was rescheduled to December 15, 2024.
