The Suffered (2014 Film)
The Suffered (Korean: 피해자들; RR: Pihaejadeul) is a 2014 South Korean thriller film directed by No Zin-Soo. The film, which features a screenplay by No Zin-Soo and Lee Sang-Hun, is part of a thematic series often referred to as No Zin-Soo's "Obsession" trilogy, alongside Death in Desert (2015) and Angel is Dead (2017).

Plot
Ga-In (Jang Da-Kyung) returns to her hometown after learning that her father is in critical condition. Despite their strained relationship, she finds herself drawn into the local environment. While there, she encounters Do-Kyung (Ryu Tae-Joon), a metal craftsman who returned to the town following his own father's death. Do-Kyung presents Ga-In with a small bracelet, marking the beginning of a series of unsettling events. The narrative takes a dark turn when Ga-In hears a woman screaming on a secluded road; upon investigating, she is attacked and subsequently held captive in a basement.
Production and Release
The film was produced by Kim Jin-Hwi and Song Chan-Ho, with cinematography by Lee Kang-Min. It held its world premiere on May 3, 2014, at the 15th Jeonju International Film Festival, where it was screened in the "Midnight In Cinema" section. The film received a theatrical release in South Korea on July 31, 2014, distributed by Golden Tide Pictures. The total runtime of the film is 88 minutes.
