The Story of Two Women (Korean: 두 여자 이야기; RR: Duyeoja iyagi) is a 1994 South Korean drama film directed by Jeong-Kuk Lee. The film examines the social and personal pressures surrounding traditional family structures in rural Korea.

Plot

The narrative centers on the lives of two women who share the same husband in a single household. Young-soon is married to a farmer named Hoon. Despite their initial happiness, the couple remains childless after six years of marriage. Under pressure to continue the family lineage, Hoon's mother insists that he take a second wife. Kyung-ja, a widow who lost her husband during the Korean War and is struggling to provide for her younger brother, eventually enters the household as Hoon's second wife.

Production

The film was produced by Tae-hwan Park, with a screenplay written by Na-yeong Kang and Sang-wook Yu. It was released in South Korea on April 22, 1994.
