The Star (Korean: 별; RR: Byeol) is a 2003 South Korean romantic drama film directed by Jang Hyeong-ik. The film explores themes of love, loss, and reconciliation.

Plot

The story follows Young-woo, an orphan who works as an engineer at a telecommunications firm. After a painful breakup with his first love, Soo-yeon, Young-woo retreats to the mountains to isolate himself. During his time in seclusion, he unexpectedly encounters Soo-yeon again, leading to a rekindling of their complicated relationship.
