The Second Husband (Korean: 두 번째 남편; RR: Du Beonjjae Nampyeon) is a South Korean television drama series that aired on the Munhwa Broadcasting Corporation (MBC) network. The series consists of 150 episodes and was broadcast from August 9, 2021, to April 5, 2022, in the Monday-Friday 19:15-19:50 time slot.

Plot

The story follows Bong Sun-Hwa (Uhm Hyun-Kyung), who has been in a long-term relationship with Moon Sang-Hyeok (Han Ki-Woong). Despite having a child together, Sang-Hyeok abandons his family to pursue personal ambitions and enters a relationship with Yoon Jae-Kyung (Oh Seung-A), the daughter of a confectionery company owner. Following the tragic death of her child and a false accusation of murder, Sun-Hwa's life is upended. She eventually crosses paths with Yoon Jae-Min (Cha Seo-Won), the stepbrother of Jae-Kyung, who becomes a central figure in her life.

Production

The series was directed by Kim Chil-Bong and written by Seo Hyun-Joo. It occupied the MBC Monday-Friday 19:15 time slot, succeeding A Good Supper and preceding The Secret House, which began airing on April 11, 2022. The broadcast schedule experienced a temporary disruption in February 2022 due to the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics, resulting in the rescheduling of episode 122 from February 7 to February 21, 2022.
