The Road Called Life (2014 Film)

The Road Called Life (Korean: 메밀꽃, 운수 좋은 날, 그리고 봄봄) is a 2014 South Korean animated anthology film. Directed by Ahn Jae-hoon and Han Hye-jin, the film serves as a cinematic adaptation of three seminal works of modern Korean literature. Released on August 21, 2014, the film has a runtime of 90 minutes.

Adaptations

The film is structured as an anthology, bringing together three distinct stories that are considered pillars of 20th-century Korean literature:

Production

The project was directed by Ahn Jae-hoon and Han Hye-jin, with Ahn Jae-hoon also serving as the writer. The production was overseen by producer Lee Sang-wook. The film aims to preserve the narrative essence and cultural context of the original literary texts through the medium of animation.

Voice Cast

The voice cast includes Jang Gwang, who provides the voice for the old man in the segment A Lucky Day, and Ryoo Hyoun-kyoung, who voices the wife in the same segment.
