The Railroad (2007 South Korean Film)

The Railroad (Korean: 경의선; RR: Gyeong-ui-seon) is a 2007 South Korean drama film written and directed by Park Heung-sik. The film explores themes of emotional trauma and human connection through the chance encounter of two strangers.

Plot

The narrative centers on a man and a woman who board the last train of the night at different stations. Both individuals are struggling with personal emotional pain and are intoxicated when they meet. Their journey concludes at the final stop near the Korean Demilitarized Zone (DMZ) on a snowy night. Forced to spend the night together in this isolated location, the two characters gradually open up to one another, revealing their inner burdens.
