The Queen's Classroom (Korean: 여왕의 교실; RR: Yeowangui Kyosil) is a South Korean television drama series that aired on MBC from June 12 to August 1, 2013. The series was broadcast on Wednesdays and Thursdays at 21:55, occupying the time slot previously held by When a Man Loves and succeeded by Two Weeks.

Background and Production

The series is a remake of the 2005 Japanese television drama Queen of the Classroom (Joo no Kyoshitsu), originally produced by NTV. The South Korean production, directed by Lee Dong-yoon and written by Kim Won-suk, focuses on the complex power dynamics and conflicts between a stern, enigmatic teacher and her sixth-grade students over the course of a school year. The first script reading for the production occurred on April 30, 2013, at the MBC Dream Centre in Ilsan, South Korea.
