The Producers (South Korean TV Series)

The Producers (Korean: 프로듀사; RR: Peurodyusa) is a South Korean television series that premiered on the KBS2 network in 2015. The drama explores the professional and personal lives of employees working within the entertainment division of the Korean Broadcasting System (KBS).

Premise

The narrative centers on Baek Seung-Chan (Kim Soo-Hyun), who joins the KBS entertainment division, motivated by a personal interest in an employee at the network. His transition into the workplace is marked by challenges, particularly in his interactions with Tak Ye-Jin (Kong Hyo-Jin), a producer for the music program Music Bank. Concurrently, the plot follows Ra Joon-Mo (Cha Tae-Hyun), a producer for the variety show 2 Days & 1 Night, who faces professional pressure due to declining ratings, and the popular singer Cindy (IU), who navigates the complexities of the entertainment industry.

Production

The series was directed by Seo Soo-Min, Pyo Min-Soo, and Shim Jae-Hyun, with a script written by Park Ji-Eun. The initial script reading for the production occurred on March 23, 2015, at The Raum Art Center in Gangnam, Seoul.
