The Plan Man (2014 Film)
The Plan Man (Korean: 플랜맨) is a 2014 South Korean comedy film directed by Sung Si-Heub. The film explores the life of Han Jung-Suk, a man whose existence is defined by rigid routines and obsessive-compulsive behaviors, and his unexpected encounter with a free-spirited woman named Yoo So-Jung.
Plot
Han Jung-Suk, played by Jung Jae-Young, is a librarian who maintains a strictly regimented life. He wakes at 6:00 AM, organizes his surroundings with precision, and suffers from a fear of germs, often carrying disinfectants. Jung-Suk harbors a secret affection for Lee Ji-Won, a convenience store worker who shares his obsessive-compulsive tendencies.
When Jung-Suk attempts to confess his feelings by gifting Ji-Won a diary documenting his daily life, he encounters Yoo So-Jung, played by Han Ji-Min, who is working in Ji-Won's place. After leaving his diary behind, Jung-Suk tracks it down to a nightclub, where he discovers So-Jung performing a song titled "Plan Man" that incorporates details from his private diary. Following this, So-Jung encourages the reluctant Jung-Suk to participate in a televised music talent show.
Production
The film was directed by Sung Si-Heub, who also co-wrote the screenplay alongside Lee Jung-A. Principal photography for the production commenced on July 29, 2013, and concluded on October 26, 2013. The film was distributed by Lotte Entertainment and released in South Korea on January 9, 2014.
