The Mimic (2017 Film)
The Mimic (Korean: 장산범; RR: Jangsanbum) is a 2017 South Korean horror-thriller film written and directed by Huh Jung. The film explores themes of grief and psychological terror through the lens of a supernatural entity known in Korean folklore as the Jangsanbum, a creature capable of mimicking human voices to lure its prey.
Plot
The narrative follows a family that encounters a mysterious, young girl in the woods. As they take her in, they begin to experience unsettling events tied to the legend of the Jangsanbum. The creature uses its ability to imitate the voices of loved ones to manipulate and endanger the family.
Production
The film was produced by Kim Eui-Sung and distributed by Next Entertainment World. Principal photography for the project commenced on August 4, 2015, and concluded on November 2, 2015.
