The Map Against The World (Korean: 고산자, 대동여지도) is a 2016 South Korean historical drama film directed by Kang Woo-Suk. The film is based on the novel Gosanja by Park Bum-Shin, which chronicles the life and achievements of the historical cartographer Kim Jeong-Ho.

Background
The film's title, Gosanja, refers to the pen name of Kim Jeong-Ho, a Joseon-era geographer and cartographer. Daedongyeojido, the title of his most famous work, translates to "The Great Map of the East Land." The narrative explores Kim's dedication to creating an accurate map of the Korean peninsula, driven by the personal tragedy of his father's death, which was attributed to an erroneous map.
Production
The Map Against The World marked director Kang Woo-Suk's 20th feature film and his first foray into the historical drama genre. Principal photography for the film commenced on August 17, 2015, and concluded on November 27, 2015.
