The Legendary Witch (Korean: 전설의 마녀; RR: Jeonseolui Manyeo) is a South Korean television drama series that aired on MBC from October 25, 2014, to March 8, 2015. The series was directed by Joo Sung-woo and written by Koo Hyun-sook, spanning 40 episodes in the Saturday and Sunday 21:45 time slot.
Plot
The story centers on four women—Moon Soo-in (Han Ji-hye), Shim Bok-nyeo (Ko Du-shim), Son Poong-geum (Oh Hyun-kyung), and Seo Mi-o (Ha Yeon-soo)—who meet while serving time in a women's prison. Despite their different backgrounds and reasons for incarceration, they form a supportive bond. After learning baking skills while imprisoned, the women decide to open their own bakery shop upon their release. Their business venture eventually leads them into direct competition with a large, established bakery corporation.
Production
The production held its first script reading on September 24, 2014, at the MBC Broadcasting Station in Sangam, South Korea. The series replaced the drama Mama in its time slot and was subsequently followed by Equator's Flower in March 2015.
