The Lady in Dignity

The Lady in Dignity (Korean: 품위있는 그녀; RR: Poomwiitneun Geunyeo) is a South Korean television drama series that aired on JTBC from June 16 to August 19, 2017. The series consists of 20 episodes and was broadcast in the Friday and Saturday 23:00 time slot.

Plot

The story follows the lives of two women whose paths cross in a wealthy household. Woo A-Jin (Kim Hee-Seon) enjoys a life of luxury, which is threatened when her father-in-law's financial situation collapses and her husband betrays her. Simultaneously, Park Bok-Ja (Kim Sun-A) enters the family as a mysterious caregiver, harboring her own secrets and ambitions that lead to significant conflict for A-Jin.

Production

The series was directed by Kim Yun-Cheol, who previously collaborated with lead actress Kim Sun-A on the 2005 MBC drama My Name Is Kim Sam-soon. The screenplay was written by Baek Mi-Kyeong. The show replaced Man to Man in its time slot and was followed by Hello, My Twenties! 2.

Awards

Director Kim Yun-Cheol received the Best Director award at the 54th BaekSang Arts Awards in 2018. Additionally, Jung Sang-Hoon was recognized as Best Supporting Actor at the 1st The Seoul Awards in 2017.
