The King's Case Note (2017 Film)

The King's Case Note (Korean: 임금님의 사건수첩; RR: Imgeumnimui Sagunsoocheob) is a 2017 South Korean period comedy-adventure film directed by Moon Hyun-sung. The film is based on the webcomic of the same name by Heo Yoon-mi, which was serialized in the magazine Wink between 2012 and 2013.

Plot

The story follows King Yejong, portrayed by Lee Sun-kyun, a monarch known for his sharp intellect and hands-on approach to solving mysteries. He is accompanied by Yoon Yi-seo, played by Ahn Jae-hong, a record keeper tasked with documenting the king's activities. The narrative centers on the pair as they investigate strange rumors circulating in Hanyang, leading them into a series of adventures to uncover the truth.

Production

The film was produced by CJ Entertainment. Principal photography for the project commenced on May 4, 2016, and concluded on September 6, 2016. The production team focused on blending historical period elements with comedic and adventurous tones.
