The Killer's Shopping List
The Killer's Shopping List is a South Korean television series that blends mystery, comedy, and crime genres. Directed by Lee Eon-hee and written by Han Ji-wan, the series aired on the cable network tvN from April 27 to May 19, 2022. The show consists of eight episodes and was broadcast in the Wednesday and Thursday 22:30 time slot.
Plot
The story follows Ahn Dae-sung (played by Lee Kwang-soo), a man with an exceptional memory who is known for his timid personality. Despite failing his civil service examination for three consecutive years, he continues to study while working part-time at MS Mart, a store owned by his mother, Han Myung-sook (Jin Hee-kyung). His girlfriend, Do A-hee (Seolhyun), is a police officer who remains supportive of his career aspirations.
The narrative shifts when a mysterious murder occurs near an apartment building in the vicinity of MS Mart. As the investigation begins, the primary clue discovered is a receipt issued from the store. This discovery leads Dae-sung, his mother, and his girlfriend to collaborate in an attempt to identify the culprit.
Production
The production process included a script reading held in late November 2021 in Sangam-dong, Seoul. The series occupied the tvN time slot previously held by Kill Heel and was succeeded by Eve on June 1, 2022.
