The Joseon Shooter

The Joseon Shooter (Korean: 조선 총잡이; RR: Joseon Chongjabi) is a South Korean historical television drama that aired on KBS2 in 2014. The series consists of 22 episodes and was broadcast on Wednesday and Thursday nights at 21:55, running from June 25 to September 4, 2014.

Plot

Set during the 19th-century Joseon dynasty, the story follows Park Yoon-Kang, the son of the nation's most renowned swordsman. Following the tragic death of his father and younger sister, Park Yoon-Kang abandons his traditional sword in favor of a modern firearm to pursue vengeance against those responsible for his family's destruction.

Production

The drama was directed by Kim Jung-Min, with a screenplay written by Ki Seung-Tae and Lee Jung-Woo. It occupied the Wednesday and Thursday 21:55 time slot on KBS2, succeeding the series Golden Cross and preceding Blade Man, which premiered on September 10, 2014.
