The Guest (Korean: 손: The Guest; RR: Son: The Guest) is a South Korean supernatural thriller television series that aired on the OCN network in 2018. Directed by Kim Hong-Sun and written by Seo Jae-Won and Kwon So-Ra, the series explores themes of exorcism, shamanism, and the investigation of crimes committed by malevolent entities.

Premise

The narrative centers on a trio of individuals who join forces to combat crimes caused by mysterious, supernatural powers. The group consists of a psychic, a Catholic priest, and a detective. Together, they investigate cases involving possession and attempt to expel evil spirits.

Main Characters

Yoon Hwa-Pyung (Kim Dong-Wook): A psychic born into a family of shamans who actively seeks out those possessed by evil spirits to perform exorcisms.
Choi Yoon (Kim Jae-Wook): A cynical and reserved Catholic priest known for his skill as an exorcist.
Kang Kil-Young (Jung Eun-Chae): A detective who initially approaches the cases with skepticism regarding the supernatural, but whose perspective shifts as she works alongside Hwa-Pyung and Yoon.

Production and Broadcast

The series aired from September 12 to November 1, 2018, on Wednesdays and Thursdays at 23:00. It holds the distinction of being the first OCN drama series to be broadcast in the Wednesday-Thursday time slot. Following its conclusion, the network aired Quiz from God: Reboot starting November 14, 2018.
