The Great Show (South Korean TV Series)

The Great Show (Korean: 위대한 쇼; RR: Widaehan Sho) is a South Korean television drama series that aired on the cable network tvN in 2019. The series, directed by Shin Yong-hwi and written by Sul Joon-suk, consists of 16 episodes.

Plot

The story follows Wie Dae-han (played by Song Seung-heon), a former National Assembly member who is struggling to regain his political footing. His life takes an unexpected turn when a young woman named Han Da-jung (Roh Jeong-eui) arrives, claiming to be his daughter. Following the death of her mother in a hit-and-run accident, Da-jung is left to care for her three younger siblings. Dae-han eventually takes the four siblings into his care, using the situation to launch a public campaign titled "The Great Show" in an attempt to rehabilitate his image and return to the political arena.

Production

The series was produced by Studio Dragon. The first script reading for the cast took place in April 2019 in Sangam, Seoul. The show premiered on August 26, 2019, and concluded on October 15, 2019. It occupied the Monday and Tuesday 21:30 time slot on tvN, succeeding the series Designated Survivor: 60 Days and preceding Catch the Ghost.
